Out with the old, and in with the new!
As an artistic brained human, when things start to feel more procedural and less spontaneous, I get anxious. I thrive in chaos, because chaos brings destruction, and destruction brings a new beginning.
In 2024, Tee See Tee became very routine. It was successful, but it was not exciting me like it did in the first few years. It started to feel paint by numbers, and naturally, I started to struggle. I questioned why, despite selling tens, even hundreds of thousands of t-shirts, stickers, and hoodies, was I still pretty much an unknown company. Sure, people know my work, but few know my brand(if that makes sense).
So as I wondered what the 11th year of Tee See Tee looked like, I played with the notion of a full rebrand. While this was tossing around in my brain, two important things were happening; I met the amazing talent at @knightwingmedia , who opened my eyes to the power of great social media content, and I was doing my 2023 taxes(late as usual).
Knightwing taught me that I needed to be the literal face of my brand, because people needed something or someone to remember my brand by. I realized that Tee See Tee did not have a mascot, or really anything to identify our brand by.
Then Jim, my tax guy had me doing all of this paperwork under my LLC name, Idea Farm. Tee See Tee has always been a DBA of Idea Farm, and in the beginning, it made sense. Tee See Tee stood for "Traverse City T-shirts" because that was what I did. Ten years ago, I was focused on making shirts for my home town. Ten years later, I just shipped orders to Norway and Amsterdam over the holidays!
So I kept seeing "Idea Farm" on this paperwork, and it hit me. All this time, I had my brand right in front of me, and I didn't even notice! So this year, I am burning Tee See Tee to the ground, and from its smoldering ashes, Idea Farm will arise!
But that is just the tip of the iceberg. There are going to be some huge changes I will announce in the coming months that I hope will create a level of engagement with all of YOU that I never had before.
So happy New year to you all, from the farm:)
